The FP&A Manager will work closely with the CFO, executive team, and cross-functionally to drive the development and management of near-term and long-term financial and strategic planning. This role will have high visibility across all levels of the organization up to the Board. We are in the midst of a financial systems transformation that includes a significant investment in financial planning and visualization tools. You will be successful in this role if you are able to analyze large amounts of data to generate timely, relevant, and actionable insights using these tools and are able to clearly communicate these insights to the team, ultimately helping us deliver a better experience to our members and better financial outcomes across each of our clubs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work collaboratively with the CFO, Executive Team, Club General Managers, and other cross-functional team members to provide relevant financial analyses that will aid each team member’s decision making
Develop and deliver on a consistent basis, key performance indicators, tracking tools and dashboards to meet financial and operational needs across each functional area
Analyze financial data, including operational metrics, and utilize financial planning software (Workday) to develop granular monthly budgets and forecasts for each club
Prepare monthly budget versus actual variance analyses, work with club operators to identify drivers for such variances, and clearly communicate insights to CFO and management team
Establish and manage process for capital projects prioritization, including calculations of ROI and tracking of spend versus budget
Assist with development of tools and templates to track compliance with loan covenants and other third-party requirements; proactively identify areas where we may be off-track
Create monthly reporting package highlighting financial and operational performance and present to CFO and other management team members, as needed; assist with Board meeting presentations
As this FP&A role is a new and important focus for Midtown, contribute to the creation of and consistent improvement of standardized best practices
Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA a plus
5 to 10 years’ experience in a financial analysis role, including at least 2 years in a Corporate finance/financial analysis role (FP&A or similar)
Demonstrated ability to create detailed financial models and budgets; ability to distill large amounts of data into concise actionable insights
Excellent work ethic with impeccable attention to detail and pride in accuracy of work
Very strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills
Team player who has the interpersonal skills and ability to form productive collaborative relationships cross-functionally and within all levels of the organization
Experience utilizing financial planning software to communicate insights (Workday / Adaptive Planning experience a plus)
Experience working in a multi-location fitness/retail/hospitality industry a plus
SQL experience a plus
