The Junior Tennis Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the "Velocity program". This individual will be the ambassador for junior tennis development within the club as Midtown strives to be the industry gold standard for junior development. The Junior Teams Supervisor will be nimble and adaptable to the changing landscape of the industry and will thrive in a people environment, bringing an energetic and inspiring leadership to the junior program.

The specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Administer all aspects of the "Velocity" junior development tennis program including program recruitment, registration, attendance, promotion of groups, scheduling of courts, preparation of statistical reports, player make-ups, and player progress.

  • Assure that the modified court equipment – balls, carts, racquets, teaching aids and nets – are always in good condition and properly located for all the programs.

  • Plan, schedule, promote and organize summer and holiday Velocity junior camps.

  • Teach groups in the junior development tennis program.

  • Teach junior private lessons and adult private/group lessons.

  • Implement the Velocity junior development curriculum.  Lead the campaign to align the attitudes of pros, parents and children regarding the use of modified courts and equipment.

  • Assist the Racquet Sports Manager in preparing the annual performance plans and reviews for the teaching professionals who work in the Velocity program.

  • Make the final approval of all players that are accepted/placed and promoted in each level.

  • Organize, promote and oversee Tennis, Junior match play events, UTR and USTA Level 7 tournaments. Promote the 2021 USTA Net Generation Competitive Pathway and support the ADM (American Development Model).

  • Assure that tennis coaches complete their player reviews on a timely basis.

  • Promote and market the Velocity junior development program locally.

  • Evaluate and provide feedback to coaches who teach in the Velocity junior program.

  • Work with the Racquet Sports Manager on all matters relating to programs, coach development and methodologies.

  • Attend coach meetings and supervisory meetings held by the Racquet Sports Manager.

  • Assist the Racquet Sports Manager with the annual and seasonal class schedule for each segment of the Velocity development program.

  • Complete other assignments deemed appropriate by the Racquet Sports Manager.
