The National Racquet Sports Director (NRSD) is responsible for the strategic direction of the Racquet Sports Department, overseeing Racquet Sports programming and all aspects of the Racquet Sports experience within the Company. This charismatic and driven leader is responsible for the creation, delivery, and quality standards of the Racquet Sports programming across the company. The NRSD will own the successful delivery of the Midtown Member Experience in their domain. They will also own the brand standards of the Racquet Sports programming and will evaluate the delivery of such programs, providing direction and coaching to the Racquet Sports Managers in each club. The NRSD will report directly to the Head of Product, while partnering the General Managers in each club as well as the other National Directors. The National Racquet Sports Education Manager will report directly into the NRSD. This person will influence positive financial results through tactical planning, optimizing talent and developing relevant associate performance. They will manage project outcomes to increase revenue, streamline processes, and establish standards to enhance operational excellence and improve member satisfaction.


· Responsible for the strategic direction of the Racquet Sports Department across the Company.

· Ensure all operations are executed in line with Midtown’s purpose and core values

· Partner the Head of Product, National Racquet Sports Education Manager, Marketing Department and Subject Matter Experts to build out & roll out Midtowns Racquet Sports Programming point of view.

· Coach the Racquet Sports Leadership Team at each club on a regular and consistent basis to ensure programming is delivered at or above expectations

· Create, implement, and direct standard operating procedures for racquet sports to ensure maximum return on group branded programming

· Partner with the National Directors and Marketing Department to build out seasonal programming and event-based calendars across the company

· Partner with the General Managers to set annual goals for the Racquet Sports Managers, while setting company wide goals for Coaches.

· Define Racquet Sports KPI’s and reporting in line with the strategic direction of the Department and thematic goals of the company.

· Lead weekly meetings with the Clubs Racquet Sports Managers.

· Build and maintain strong National Racquet Sports relationships and promote the brand image to enhance Midtown’s position in the industry

· Regularly conduct competitive analysis to identify and leverage club’s advantage in the marketplace.

· Collaborate on the preparation of annual budgets

· Collaborate with corporate marketing and sales to ensure clarity of Midtown’s racquet sports offerings

· Partner with the National Racquet Sports Education Manager in the build out and delivery of Racquet Sports Education across the company.

· Partner with the National Racquet Sports Education Manager in the development, build out and rollout of the Midtown Tennis Academy


· Minimum of 6 years of Racquet sports experience, preferably in a multi-site position with a successful track record of leading multi-million-dollar operations

· Minimum of 6 years Managerial or Director level experience overseeing personnel management, including hiring, supervision, performance management and evaluations

· Expertise using data to identify and utilize key performance indicators to drive business results

· Must be an astute, results-oriented, visionary leader with a history of achieving organizational objectives in competitive markets

· Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills

· Possess ability to build high-performance teams and effectively manage associate performance

· Demonstrate sound judgment and history of making good business decisions

· Possess self-confidence and optimism with a high degree of competitiveness

· Demonstrate ability to effectively share skills and knowledge with others

· Possess proficient interpersonal and relationship building abilities

· Possess ability to actively listen to others and build rapport

· Possess an eye for detail with sound aesthetic judgment and ability to create environmental ambiance
