Position Summary

The Regional General Manager (RGM) of the Centre Clubs directs and coordinates the daily operations of the Gurnee Centre Club and provides oversight of the Libertyville Centre Club. Primarily responsible for driving sales, service, operational and financial performance of the clubs. Also responsible for providing a high level of service, professionalism and excellence to our client to grow Midtown Health value to the health system. As the National Sales Champion, serves as the leader in driving sales culture, processes and performance throughout Midtown Health.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides direct management of the Gurnee Centre Club to produce sales, service, operational and financial success of the club and provides oversight of the Libertyville Centre Club to produce results.

  • Leads the sales efforts of the clubs and trains and develops a sales team to consistently achieve and exceed budgeted membership sales goals.

  • Responsibility for implementing a WeInspire service culture to enhance membership retention.

  • Develops successful client relationships by maintaining regular and efficient communication and by consistently providing Midtown Health value to the client.

  • Drives financial results through strategic planning, optimizing associate performance, managing expenses, increasing revenue, streamlining processes and establishing standards to increase operational excellence and improve member satisfaction.

  • Reviews and analyzes relevant data/information to make sound business decisions.

  • Responsible for the development and growth of medically-integrated programs and services throughout the club and health system.

  • Effectively recruits, retains and develops a team of talented and dedicated managers and supervisors.

  • Ensures all operational areas of the clubs are operating at peak effectiveness to properly serve members.

  • Responsible for the development and growth of medically-integrated programs and services throughout the club and health system.

  • Drives a WeInspire culture among managers, supervisors and all associates by leading the WeInspire training efforts along with producing and leading the continuous implementation of the culture through Daily Outlooks.

  • Sees that all profit centers are maximizing revenues and keeping profit margins at budgeted levels

  • Using available resources, experience, knowledge, and sound judgment to make intelligent and effectual decisions.

  • Ensuring operations are executed according to company values and objectives.

  • Leads a team of Manager on Duty staff to ensure club is effectively managed and operations are running at peak levels every hour that the club is open.

  • Works collaboratively with VP of Operations and Central Services to prepare annual budgets, regular variance statements and annual audits.

  • Improving business results through collaborative team building and associate mentoring.

  • Administering Performance Management Process to improve associate performance and boost morale.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of high level management and leadership experience with a successful track record of leading successful clubs.

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Exercise Science, Sports Management, or related fields.

  • Proven experience leading sales teams to successfully exceeding membership goals.

  • History of reducing expenses, growing revenue and increasing profits.

  • Results-oriented, highly organized, detail oriented with a strong ability to follow through.

  • Proven ability to build strong teams to produce results.

  • Strong focus on providing customers with excellent customer service that is above and beyond service norms.

  • Strong history of achieving organizational objectives in competitive markets

  • Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Possess self-confidence with a high degree of competitiveness

  • Possess proficient interpersonal and relationship building abilities

  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
