Position Summary

As an integral part of our team, Youth Basketball Instructors inspire members through movement, community, and personal attention. They encourage active, social, and healthier lives by:

  • Leading by example, demonstrating sound judgment and acting as a positive role model to young members and associates
  • By teaching basketball through group programs and one-on-one training focusing on skill development including dribbling, passing, shooting from multiple ranges and positions, rebounding, rebounding, and defense
  • Being able to create, run, and promote basketball clinics and camps for members and nonmembers during local school holiday and summer breaks
  • Ensuring highest standards of customer service are consistently being met
  • Creating a positive, clean and safe work environment
  • Work closely with KidsFit Supervisor on marketing and promotion materials for lessons, clinics and camps
  • Communicate directly with parents and student, tracking sign-ups and attendance, and managing class ratios


Our Youth Basketball Instructor:

  • Genuinely care about providing quality and safe youth experiences
  • Possess middle school/high school/ college coaching experience preferred with knowledge of basic basketball fundamentals with the ability to teach skills of the sport
  • Have the ability to work flexible hours as program need arises including evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate others to work independently and as a team
  • Communicate effectively with both children and adults
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills through a genuine desire to serve others
  • Possess outstanding communication skills and solid organizational abilities
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude that inspires children
