MIDTOWN ROCHESTER is looking for a Seasonal Outdoor Deck Lead to add to our first-class organization. The Deck Lead will be responsible for enhancing the guest experience and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for members and at the Midtown Athletic Club pool and outdoor areas.

This is a seasonal position that requires working Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as, summer holidays. This position is from May until Labor Day. This seasonal part-time Rochester, NY based position pays $17.00 per hour.

The Position

Our Deck Lead creates positive lasting impressions by providing enthusiastic greetings and warm assistance. Whether making sure the pool and tennis decks are clean and comfortable or helping a guest navigate their way around the pool deck, they play an important role by exceeding service expectations and providing a sense of belonging.

To join our team, you must be able to:

  • Be on your feet for up to 8 hours

  •  Work outdoors in heat for up to 8 hours 

  • Lift over 50lbs

  • Control crowds

  • Enforce club policies and procedures 

Our Deck Leads:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience

  • Have great personalities that naturally connect with a wide variety of people

  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and enjoy serving others

  • Have the ability to work gracefully and quickly under pressure

  • Possess a keen memory and delightful sense of humor

  • Work well in a collaborative team environment

  • Are highly organized and efficient 

  • Have excellent communication skills

  • Answer queries regarding club services and facilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of deck areas to contribute to an exceptional facility experience

  • Welcome individuals who enter the club in a warm and pleasant manner

  • Work closely with the Hospitality Manager

  • Supervise Deck Hosts, assist in call-offs and schedule changes, various admin tasks and other duties assigned by the Hospitality Manager
