Help Members Achieve Their Goals While Building a Thriving Coaching Career

Midtown is seeking an experienced Fitness Coach / Personal Trainer who is ready to build a thriving client base while making a meaningful impact on our members' lives.

We're looking for professionals who are passionate about coaching, relationship building, and delivering exceptional fitness experiences. Experience in both personal training and group fitness instruction is preferred, but not required.

At Midtown, you'll join a collaborative team that believes in being Kind, maintaining a Glass Half Full outlook, striving to be Better Than Yesterday, and helping each other Win Together.

The Position

At Midtown, every new coach begins as a Coach on Duty, regardless of experience level.

For experienced trainers, the Coach on Duty role serves as a strategic opportunity to become acquainted with the club, establish relationships with members, understand the Midtown culture, and begin building a strong personal training clientele from day one.

As a Coach on Duty, you'll be a visible presence throughout the fitness floor, engaging members, providing guidance, answering questions, and identifying opportunities to help individuals achieve their goals through personal training.

In addition to Coach on Duty responsibilities, you'll leverage your experience and expertise to grow a successful personal training business within the club. Through relationship building, consultations, assessments, and exceptional coaching, you'll help members achieve meaningful results while developing a loyal client base.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a thriving personal training clientele
  • Conduct fitness consultations, assessments, and personal training sessions
  • Design individualized exercise programs that drive measurable results
  • Retain clients through exceptional coaching, accountability, and relationship building
  • Walk the fitness floor and proactively engage members
  • Develop meaningful relationships that create opportunities for personal training and coaching services
  • Contribute to a positive, welcoming, and high-energy fitness environment
  • Lead with Midtown's core values:
    • Win Together
    • Glass Half Full
    • Kind
    • Better Than Yesterday

Requirements

  • Current nationally recognized Personal Training certification
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a fitness club environment
  • Proven ability to build and retain a personal training clientele
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as business needs require
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as both a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor
  • Track record of growing and retaining a personal training business
  • Experience coaching a wide range of fitness levels and populations
  • Strong understanding of exercise programming and behavior change

Why Midtown?

We believe great coaches deserve opportunities to continue growing professionally and personally.

As a member of the Midtown coaching team, you'll have access to:

  • Free and significantly discounted continuing education opportunities
  • Mentorship and collaboration with an experienced coaching team
  • Opportunities to learn from seasoned fitness professionals and industry experts
  • Discounts on club apparel, food, and services
  • Complimentary individual club membership for coaches who maintain a minimum of 12 working hours per week
  • The opportunity to qualify for benefits, including:
    • Medical insurance
    • Dental insurance
    • Vision insurance
    • 401(k) with company matching
    • Paid holidays
    • Paid time off (PTO)
    • Sick time

Ideal Candidate

You understand that great coaching is about more than exercise programming. You enjoy connecting with people, building trust, and creating lasting results. You are self-motivated, relationship-driven, and excited by the opportunity to grow your client base within a supportive team environment.

You take ownership of your success, proactively engage with members, and recognize that every interaction is an opportunity to make a positive impact. You are committed to continuous learning and are excited to be part of a culture that values collaboration, optimism, kindness, and growth.

If you're an experienced fitness professional looking for a club that invests in its coaches and provides the resources to build a successful career, we'd love to meet you.
