Role Overview

The Pilates Studio Manager is responsible for leading Midtown’s signature studio experience, blending elevated programming, exceptional member engagement, and continuous instructor development. This role serves as the in-studio ambassador for Midtown’s boutique-forward strategy—bringing our core values to life through every class, interaction, and touchpoint.

This leader thrives in a dynamic, people-first environment, leading with energy, adaptability, and a passion for developing others. They are equally focused on building world-class instructors as they are on creating unforgettable member experiences.

1. Exceptional Member Experience

  • Champion a best-in-class, boutique-style studio environment that reflects Midtown’s brand and values

  • Ensure every class delivers a consistent, high-quality, and engaging experience

  • Partner with club leadership to create a seamless new member onboarding journey into Pilates programming

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase class participation, retention, and overall member satisfaction

  • Lead and oversee studio events that build community and deepen member connection

2. Instructor Development & Upskilling

  • Recruit, onboard, and cultivate a diverse, high-performing team of Pilates instructors

  • Create a culture of continuous learning through coaching, feedback, and development opportunities

  • Conduct regular class audits and evaluations to ensure program integrity and elevated delivery standards

  • Identify skill gaps and implement targeted upskilling plans to help instructors grow and reach their full potential

  • Mentor instructors to refine their craft, elevate their presence, and deliver impactful member experiences

3. Studio Operations & Program Excellence

  • Oversee all aspects of the studio environment, including equipment, cleanliness, and audio/visual systems

  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to build strategic, data-informed group programming schedules

  • Monitor studio performance through participation metrics and use insights to drive decision-making

  • Ensure all programming aligns with Midtown’s brand standards and boutique studio strategy

  • Actively stay informed on industry trends and competitor offerings to keep Midtown at the forefront of innovation

4. Leadership & Communication

  • Serve as a trusted liaison between instructors and leadership, fostering clear and consistent communication

  • Lead with authenticity, accountability, and a strong commitment to Midtown’s core values

  • Build a collaborative and inclusive team culture centered on growth, respect, and excellence

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Pilates instruction experience
  • Active nationally recognized Pilates certification (required)
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and inspire others
  • Strong passion for delivering exceptional member experiences
  • Adaptable mindset with a keen awareness of industry trends and innovation

Compensation & Benefits 

Compensation: Starting at $25 per hour. Opportunities for additional compensation are available through group and individual instruction.

The final offered compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.

What you can expect after submitting your application

Within two weeks, someone from our Talent Team will review your application. If your experience doesn't align with the needs of the role at this time, we will let you know. If we'd like to move you to the next step of the process, we'll reach out to schedule the first interview.

While there can be the occasional exception, the interview process typically takes 2-3 weeks and includes the following steps.

  1. A 30 to 60-minute virtual Teams call with a member of the Talent Team to discuss Midtown, the role, and your background and experience.
  2. A 60-minute interview with the Hiring Manager, ideally in person, where you'll dive deeper into the technical side of the role.
  3. A 90-minute panel interview, and club tour, with members of the team and the applicable National Director (e.g. National Program Manager for fitness roles)

You'll receive an update on your application within 48 hours of each interview. Please note that, depending on the specifics of the role, it may take up to a week to finalize offer decisions.
