Windy Hill [Midtown] Athletic Club is looking for a Summer Lifeguard to watch over our Outdoor Pool primarily during Summer Camp and other Peak Hours of Usage to ensure the safety of our members in the Aquatics Space.
The Position
As an integral part of the aquatics team, our Seasonal Lifeguards inspire members through movement, community, and personal attention. They encourage active, social, and healthier lives by:
Explaining and Enforcing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure safety of patrons in a Kind [friendly yet direct] Manner
While on stand, properly scanning in a preventative manner looking out for signs of struggle, stepping up before it gets dire
In the event of an emergency, rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning promptly and confidently
Maintaining order in swimming areas for all ages and abilities
Assisting our Facilities team with cleanliness of aquatics areas to promote an enjoyable experience
As a Lifeguard it is essential you show up to shift on time prepared with what you need to safely work through proper rest, hydration, nutritious meal, & any sun-protection items (hat, sunglasses, etc.) You will be provided your own individual Lifeguard Fanny Pack with personal supplies that will be your responsibility to bring alongside your Windy Hill Athletic Club Guard Shirt, shorts/suit, & whistle.
Lifeguard hours begin at 10 AM and go through the Evening, 7 days a week scheduling about 3 - 4 different Lifeguards a day each working about 12 - 20 hours.
Lifeguard requirements:
Possess nationally recognized certifications in aquatics including: Lifeguarding, Pro CPR/AED, First Aid
Red Cross Certification, preferred (if you have another certification, we may still be able to have a conversation)
Embody our Core Values to enrich member's experience in the summer, you are an incredibly important associate
Possess ability to provide multisensory instruction: auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic
